We will be using Hopin for all of our workshops and talks, so here are some notes to help you get started!

Code for Good 2020 | Hopin

Navigating the Different Areas:

Registering for the Event

You should be able to access the link and register for a "Hacker" ticket. It is completely free and will give you access to our opening/closing ceremonies as well as all the talks/workshops going on during the weekend.

Note: You will not actually be able to access the different areas of the platform until 8AM (EST) on Saturday.

Reception Area

The "Reception" area is where you will be able to get an overview of all our events. Here, you will be able to see the schedule for all our talks/workshops and be able to link them to your own calendar, if you would like. It also shows you where you can find the different events (where if it will be an event on our "Stage" or if it will be a talk in "Sessions").

Stage Area

This is where we are having our "main stage." Here, we will be holding our opening and closing ceremonies. All you need to do is click on the "Stage" tab on the left panel (there will be a red "LIVE" label when we are broadcasting) to view our opening/closing ceremonies

We will be having Jeff Maggioncalda, CEO of Coursera, speaking at our opening and Laura Kogler, Director of Engineering at Code for America, so you will not want to miss those!

Reminder: Opening will be at 10AM - 11AM (EST) on Saturday, and closing will be at 6PM - 7PM (EST) on Sunday.

Sessions Area

This is where you will likely spend most of your time. Here, we will be holding all of our talks and workshops. When you click on the "Sessions" tab, you will be able to see (and join) any session that is currently in progress or will be starting soon. Since our sessions are tied to our schedule, sessions will automatically appear 5 minutes before the time on the schedule and will automatically hide once the time is up.
