What is a valid submission?:
- You can build anything (i.e. an iOS app, web application, hardware) that's focused on a problem related to one of the four tracks
- The only guideline is that your submission must have code, i.e. cannot just be a prototype/idea/wireframe
Rules About Your Submission:
If your submission violates any of the following then it will not be considered for judging.
- You can only begin coding at the beginning of HackDuke, i.e. 10 am EST
- You cannot submit a project you began working on before our event or from a previous hackathon
- You can only submit to one track - if your submission covers multiple tracks you must choose which track you want to be considered for in judging
- Every member of your team must be:
- Registered for Code for Good,
- Registered and added as a team member on your Devpost submission.
Should I submit to a beginner prize?
- You can submit to a beginner prize if more than half of your team is first-time hackers!
You can submit only to one track but to however many sponsor prizes as you wish :)
Submitting to Devpost:
- Initial submissions are due at 3:30 pm EST on 12/06. Judging begins at 4:00 pm EST so you have 30 minutes to make any edits to your submissions before editing is closed.
- You must have something submitted to Devpost by 3:30 pm EST to be considered for judging and prizes.
- Please plan ahead and allocate enough time to account for any potential technical difficulties with your submission!
- Video Guidelines - in lieu of live demos all hackers must submit a video (max 3 mins) explaining their project. Here are some guidelines for your video:
- You must include "this is our HackDuke 2020 project" at some point in your video
- Explain the overview/purpose of your project
- Talk about the development and process of your submission
- Detail any further work or expansion of your project
- Repo Guidelines - you must also link your project's public repo/codebase on Devpost
